İpek Çakır : Merhaba Mary. Öncelikle röportaj teklifimizi kabul ettiğin için teşekkür ederim. İlk sorum genel olarak kendini ve kariyerini nasıl tanımlarsın?

Mary Madcox : Röportaj davetiniz için teşekkürler. Bir soundtrack sanatçısıyım bunun yanında özel gore efektlerle de ilgileniyorum.

İpek Çakır : “Nurse Hatchet” olarak da biliniyorsun. Bu personayı yaratırken en çok ilham aldıkların nelerdi? Ayrıca bu karakterle ilgili bize daha çok bilgi verebilir misin?

Mary Madcox : Haha beni hemen en sert soruyla vurmak istedin demek!  Tabi ki anlatayım,bu karakter geçmişte yaşadığım zor durumlardan ortaya çıktı.  Evden kaçtım ve tecavüze uğradıktan kısa süre sonra Navy’e katıldım.  Yaşadığım bu kötü olaydan sonra kendimi korumak konusunu daha ciddiye almaya başladım,bunun yanında düzenli olarak Navy kampına da devam ettim. Bunun yanında tecavüzden korunma konusunda birkaç ders de aldım ve savunma sporları konusunda daha çok bilgi edindim.

Bunlardan sonra değişik konumlarda 2 kere daha saldırıya uğradım ve ikisinde de kendimi korumayı,hayatta kalmayı ve saldırganlardan kaçmayı başardım.  Bunu anlatmamın başlıca nedenini de şöyle açıklayabilirim,eğer insanlara önemli bir örnek olmam gerekirse,genç kadınları ve adamları şuna teşvik etmek isterim ; lütfen kendinizi korumayı öğrenin,dünya annenizin size anlattığı kadar güvenli bir yer değil,ve bazen hayatta kalabilmek adına savaşmak zorunda kalabiliriz.

Bunu anlatmamın diğer nedeni ise,bu yaşadıklarımdan sonra,halen bazı kalıcı etkilerini görüyorum,kabuslar,insanlara karşı korku duymak,dış dünyaya karşı korku,öfkeli ve şiddet içerikli duygular,hatta intikam isteği..

Ama bana zarar veren ya da vermeye çalışan insanlardan intikam alıp hapise girmek ya da tutuklanmaktansa,hikayeler yazmak,müzik ve videolar yaratmaya odaklandım, bunlar yaşadıklarımla ilgili duygularımı farklı bir yöne aktarmama yardımcı oldu. Ayrıca bu intikam duygusunu anlatmama ve kötülükleri içimden çıkarmaya yardımcı oldu. Böylece “Nurse” doğdu. Hikayemde beni temsil eden karakter olarak “Nurse Hatchet” oldum.

Şu anda yazdığım hikayeyi tam olarak paylaşamam,ama yakında çıkacak olan “Origin of Nurse Hatchet” adlı çizgiromanda bunu bulabilirsiniz.  Çıkış tarihi de bu yaz olacak.  Hikayem böylece bir çizgiromana aktarıldı,artık yaşayan bir çizgiroman karakteriyim. Size bu kadarını anlatabilirim,hikaye intikam almakla ilgili ve aslında bu hikayeyi anlatmak bir bakıma benim için korkularımla yüzleşmek oldu,ve gerçek intikam da hayatta başarılı olmak.

Tabi ki hikayemde,gerçek hayatımda yaşadığım olaylar biraz değiştirildi ama çok değil,çünkü hikayede anlatılan her şey aslında yaşadığım olayları sembolize ediyor.

Dediğim gibi,bu hikaye aynı zamanda müziğime ve videolara da yansıdı,erotizm ve korku temalı endüstriyel punk yapıyorum diyebilirim ve açıklaması da kolay.. Erotik içerik şarkılarımda bir tuzak olarak yer alıyor,kurbanlarını baştan çıkararak ölüme yaklaştıran bir kadın gibi,ve korku içeriği de onlardan aldığı intikamla alakalı. Şimdi şunu da söylemeliyim ki bütün şarkılarımda yaşadıklarımdan esinlenmedim.

Bazı erotik şarkılarım ve videolarım sağlıklı ve yaratıcı cinselliği desteklemek,insanların sevişmek konusunda bu yönde ilham alması amacıyla yaratıldı .Bence insanlar seks hayatlarını renklendirmeli ve daha eğlenceli hale getirmeli,yeni oyunlar keşfetmeli,hatta roller yaratmalı,yaratıcı olmalı.Cat O’Nine kuyruklarınızı takın ve kamçılamaya başlayın.

İnanıyorum ki bu da yaşadıklarımın bende bıraktığı etkilerden biri,”Sağlıklı Cinsellik” konusunda ilham kaynağı olma isteği ve ihtiyacı. Eğer daha çok çift beraberce daha yaratıcı olursa,bence daha az seks içerikli suç yaşanır dünyada .Cinsel açıdan sorunlar yaşayan birinin dışarı çıkıp kendi evinde ve hayatında elde edemediği şeyleri suç işleyerek elde etmeye çalışması sıkça görülen bir durum. Cinsel yönden sorunlu olmasalar belki de evlerinde bunları yaşayıp eğlenebilecekler. Bence bu tip kötü durumların yaşanmaması için yasal sınırlamaların azaltılması ve özgürlüğün arttırılması da gerekli. Açık olarak görüyorum ki bazı insanlar cinsel yönden sorunlu ve isteklerini özgürce yaşayamadıkları için mutsuzlar. Bu isteklerini tatmin edebilecekleri bir yol bulabilseler,belki de sokaklara çıkıp isteksiz kurbanlar aramak zorunda kalmazlar.

Bunun yerine kendileriyle birlikte olmak isteyen insanları bularak onlarla bir araya gelip ihtiyaçlarını karşılarlar,cinsel ihtiyaçlarını,sıradışı ihtiyaçlarını,S/M ihtiyaçlarını..Herkes için mutlaka kendine uygun birisi vardır bu kişilerin toplum baskısı hissetmeden bir araya gelebilmelerini sağlamalıyız,yasalar da buna uygun olarak hazırlansa bence bu yaşanan problemler azalır.

Böylece anlıyorsunuz ki,müziğimin ve videolarımın çoğu yaşadıklarıma dayanıyor,ve de çıkış noktası “korku”. Ama hepsi de böyle değil,bir kısmı da tamamen yaratıcı erotizm ile ilgili,bunun da amacı sağlıklı cinselliğe ilham vermek.

Ve tabi ki de sık sık sistemin çarpık yönleriyle ve özgürlük kavramıyla ilgili birşeyler söylemek durumunda kalıyorum.

İpek Çakır : Sence korku filmlerini diğer türlerden farklı yapan ve daha çekici kılan özellikler neler?

Mary Madcox : Kişisel yorumuma göre korku filmleri,bir hayatta kalma rehberi sunuyor..Tüm korku filmleri hayatta kalabilmekle ilgili. Benim insanları kendilerini korumak yönünde teşvik etmek istediğim kadar,

korku filmleri de aslında bunu niye yapmamız gerektiğinin değişmez hatırlatıcısı.

Hepsi de karşımıza çıkanlarla savaşmak ve hayatta kalmakla alakalı,ya da bazen yeteri kadar savaşmayanların başına neler geldiğini gösteriyor ki bu da aslında bir tür hayatta kalma rehberi. Doğaüstü canavarlar ya da psikopat katillerle bile ilgili filmler bile nasıl hayatta kalabileceğimizle alakalı. Bu da tekrar aynı noktaya geliyor : kendinizi korumayı öğrenin. Kısacası bana göre,korku filmleri diğer türlerden daha önemli..komedi dışında..bence komedi ruhunuz için iyi bir ilaç. Zor zamanlarla baş etmekte yardımcı oluyor. Sözün özü en çok korku,komedi ve erotica türlerini seviyorum.Özellikle erotizm,korku ve komedi öğelerini bir arada barındıran filmler diyebilirim.

İpek Çakır : Aynı zamanda bir görsel efekt sanatçısısın.Bu nedenle şunu da sormak istiyorum.Sence bir filmdeki görsel efektler nasıl olmalı?

Mary Madcox : Bilgisayar destekli efektlerle çok ilgilenmiyorum..Daha “oldschool” türde şeyleri seviyorum. Daha doğal şekilde yaratılmış canavarları ya da şiddet öğelerini tercih ederim,lateks ve çamurdan canavar gibi şeyler ve bunların doğurduğu garip görüntüler..Yanlış anlamayın tabi ki bilim kurgu ya da süper kahraman filmlerinde bilgisayarda destekli efektlerin yeri büyük,bunlar bu efektleri kullanmak için çok uygun,çünkü insanların uçmasını ya da uzay gemilerinin gerçek gibi görünmesini sağlıyor vs.

Ama bana göre korku filmlerinde bilgisayar destekli efektlerin yeri yok,sadece sahte görünmesine neden oluyor,ya da kötü animasyonlu bir video oyunu oynuyormuşum gibi hissetmeme,bu da hikayenin dışına çıkılmasına neden oluyor. Bilgisayarda yaratılan canavarlar,kanlı sahneler,hepsi sahte görünüyor,ve şimdiye kadar bunlardan pek de etkilenmedim,belki zamanla daha gerçekçi görünmesi sağlanacaktır,ama o gün gelene kadar,ben lateks ve “karo şurubu” ile çalışmaya devam edeceğim.

İpek Çakır : Peki cinsel içerik,çıplaklık ve bunların sinema,müzik,fotoğrafçılık alanlarındaki önemi hakkında ne düşünüyorsun? Bence bunlar önemlidir ve sen de aynı şekilde düşünüyorsun gibi hissediyorum.

Mary Madcox : Bu muhteşem bir soru. Daha önce de belirttiğim gibi,bence genel olarak insanlar için,sevenler için,sevgiyi arayanlar için ya da sadece eğlenenler için sağlıklı ve yaratıcı cinselliği teşvik etmek son derece önemli.

Bence maalesef toplum sekse biraz negatif açıdan bakıyor,bu nedenle ülkemin bazı eyaletlerinde oral seks yasak mesela..

Çok sıkı ve baskı altında toplumlarda yaşıyoruz,bence cinsel suçluları tetikleyen şey de bu,sorunlu mutsuz baskı altında seks hayatları. Eğer sekse pozitif yönden bakarsak,bizde ve toplumda yarattığı olumlu etkileri görebiliriz. Bu yüzden gerçeği yaymak bir zorunluluk,seks güzeldir ve doğaldır,sanatta kullanılan çıplaklığı,sanatın güzel bir parçası olarak görmeliyiz,ve cinselliğe hepimizin zevk alması için bizlere sunulan bir şey olarak bakmalıyız.Beden için iyi,ruh için iyi,hatta iyi bir egzersiz.
Seks oyuncaklarıyla oynamak istiyorsak bundan utanmamalıyız ya da toplumun “sapıkça ve yaramazca” olarak gördüğü şeyleri yapmaktan çekinmemeliyiz,bence insanların bunlardan alıkonulması baskıcı düzenin bir parçası,bu durum da insanların doğal yollarından çıkmalarına neden oluyor.

İpek Çakır : Favori korku filmlerin ve karakterler hangileri?Oyunculuk konusunda ne düşünüyorsun?”Keşke bunu oynasaydım” dediğin bir karakter oldu mu hiç?

Mary Madcox : Dürüst olmak gerekirse hayır hiç birini oynamak istemedim. Çünkü oyunculuk tam olarak benim işim değil. Oyunculuğu yapabildiğimi düşünüyorum ama benim asıl ilgi alanlarım müzik ve gore efektleri. Bir filmde yer aldıgımda,küçük bir bölüm olmasını isterim özellikle konuşmak zorunda olmadığım bir bölüm,çünkü oyunculuk benim işim değil. Sanırım burda biraz kendimi hafife aldım,aslında gerçek şu ki,oyunculuk yapabiliyorum ve bu konuda iyi olduğum da söylendi,ama bu konuda fazla deneyimim yok,beni müzik videolarımda görüyorsunuz,onlarda sadece kendimim,evet belki bir karakter olarak ama yine de olduğum gibiyim orda.Stüdyoda davrandığım gibi,evde davrandığım gibi,yastıklı bir hücrede olsam
davranacağım gibi.

İpek Çakır: Müzik grubun hakkında da bize daha çok bilgi verir misin?

Mary Madcox: Tabi ki büyük zevkle. Grubum ya da projem de denebilir,”Mixtress Demonatrix” adında. Electro,erotik,endüstriyel,korku içerikli,punk fetiş metal türündeyiz haha. Bu projeyi birkaç yıl önce başlattım ve tüm dünyadan çeşitli sanatçılarla,gruplarla ve müzisyenlerle ortak çalışmalarım oldu. Bu çalışmalardan biri de Ari Lehman ile oldu aynı zamanda 13.Cuma filminden Jason Voorhees olarak da tanınmaktadır. Grubunun adı “First Jason”. Bugünlerde Ari ile beraber şarkı sözü yazmakla uğraşıyorum,ve bazı First Jason parçalarının remixlerini yapıyorum.

Bir başka ortak çalışmam ise yakın arkadaşım Wild Bill Johnson ile oluyor.Tobe Hoopers Texas Chainsaw Massacre filminde Leatherface karakterini oynadı.O sözleri yazdı bense müzikleri yapıyorum.

Projemin müzikleri pek çok yapımda yer aldı. En son, The Chainsaw Sally Show Sezon 1de müziklerim var ve yakında gösterime girecek olan Sezon 2de müziklerim yer alacak.

Ayrıca Silver Scream adındaki bir sahne şovu için bazı şarkıları güncelleme ve yenilemekle de uğraşıyorum. Uzun süredir dostlarım olan yönetmen JimmyO ve April “Chainsaw Sally” Burril bu şovu hazırlıyorlar.

İpek Çakır : Sevdiğin müzik videolarının ortak özellikleri neler peki?

Mary Madcox : Dinlediğim müzik türleri çok geniş alana yayıldığından bunun cevabı da öyle. Ama genel olarak bir hikaye anlatan videoları sadece bir grubun çaldığı videolara tercih ederim. Görsellik,yaratıcılık ve hayalgücü kullanarak bir hikaye anlatan videoları seviyorum videolarda bunu arıyorum. Ama hikayesiz bile olsa garip korkunç videoları ve erotik videoları seviyorum. Bunlar yanında eski moda “psychodelic” videolar hoşuma gidiyor.

İpek Çakır : Sana genel olarak ilham kaynağı olan isimler kimler?

Mary Madcox : Bu isimlerden de çok var ama bazıları şunlar Debbie Harry,Ministry,David Lynch,John Carpenter,George Romero,Stephen King,Iggy Pop,Harley Quinn,Poison Ivy,Dario Argento,Portishead,Steven Spielberg,Batman,Tim Burton,Quentin Tarantino,Robert Rodriguez,Trent Reznor,Brian Yuzna..

İpek Çakır: Yakın zamandaki projelerinden de bize bahseder misin?

Mary Madcox : Chainsaw Sally Show Sezon 2 Soundtrack yayınlanacak. Wild Bill Johnson ile olan ortak çalışmam yayınlanacak. Ari Lehman First Jason ile beraber yaptığım çalışmalar var. “Origin of Nurse Hatchet” adlı çizgiromanım yayınlanacak. Silver Scream için yaptığım şarkılar var ve projemin ikinci albümü “Something Wicked She Becomes” Halloween zamanlarında piyasaya çıkacak.

Mary Madcox “Nurse Hatchet” Interview

İpek Çakır : Hello Mary.First of all thanks for accepting to have this interview.The first question is how would you describe yourself and your career generally?

Mary Madcox : thank you truly for the interview invite. well, I am a Score music & Soundtrax Artist, along with doing special gore FX & props.

İpek Çakır : You’re also known as “Nurse Hatchet”.What were your inspirations when you created this persona?Also could you tell us more about this character?

Mary Madcox : Hahaha hit me with the deep hard question right away huh hahaha!!
ok, my character spawned from some very harsh things i went through when i was younger, i had run away from home & joined the Navy. not long after that i was Raped, after that i learned to take self defense very seriously, along with my regular Navy boot camp training, i also took a few rape prevention classes & learned more in martial arts. i was attacked 2 more times, on separate occasions, and both times i fought back & survived and got away from my attackers!! the first reason i am explaining this is because if i can inspire anything important i would like to encourage young woman & men too, please learn to defend yourselves, the world is not as safe as mommy told you it was, and sometimes we must fight in order to survive in this life.
the second reason im explaining this is, after what happened to me, i still to this day suffer lasting effects, nightmares, fear of people, fear of the outside world, angry & violent emotions, even the feeling of wanting revenge. but rather then go to prison or jail lol.. for taking my revenge on people who hurt me or attempted to hurt me, i focused on writing a story & creating music & videos, which would help me vent my emotions about what i went through. also help me express that revenge, to vent out the demons!!!

thus the Nurse was born! the character who would represent me in my story, I would become NURSE HATCHET.

I cant give away the story right now, but you can check it out in the upcoming comicbook, “Origin of Nurse Hatchet”.
due to be unleashed this summer. the story i wrote has now been translated into comic, now im a living comicbook character hehehe.

i will tell you this much, the story is about taking revenge & for me telling the story is kinda like facing my fears, and the real revenge is my success. of course in my story it has been slightly changed from what i actually went through, but not changed too much, because really everything in the story is symbolic of the events.

as i said, the story has also translated into my music & videos as well, i do erotic horror industrial punk music, and its easy to explain.. the erotica is the lure, like a siren luring victims to their death, and the horror is the revenge exacted!!

now i should also explain, not all my songs are based on the story of what i went through.
some of the erotica style songs / vids are purely created to inspire healthy creative sexuality between lovers & in love making.
i feel that people should spice up their sex lives and make it more wild, play new games, role play, get creative!! get out the Cat’O’Nine Tails and start whipping!!! ;-D

i do believe this is one of the lasting after effects of what i went through, my want & need to inspire “Healthy Sexuality” if more couples would be more creative together, i believe their would be less sexually related crimes, it is very often a sexually frustrated people go out into the night hunting for what they dont get at home or in their lives, if they were not sexually frustrated maybe they would have stayed home and had some FUN!!!

i also believe legalizing call Girl services are part of the answer hahaha bare with my logic a moment ok, obviously some people are frustrated and un happy about sex or the lack of it.. if they had somewhere they could go to satisfy these needs, they would not likely be on the streets looking for an un-willing victim. they would instead be visiting places & people who take care of & cater to those needs, sexual needs, kinky needs, S&M needs, theres someone out there for everybody all we need to do is get them together hahahaha and that wouldnt be a problem if it was legal.

so you understand, most of my music & videos are based on what i went through, which translates mostly into Horror.
but not all the music, some of the music is based completely on creative erotica, to inspire healthy sexuality. and of course every so often i have to do more ranting about our crooked government & the concept of Freedom hehehe!!

İpek Çakır : What do you think makes the horror movies different and more attractive than the other genres?

Mary Madcox : personally, horror movies to me represent a basic survival guide for life…
every horror movie is about trying to survive. just as much as i want to inspire people to learn to defend themselves, horror films are a constant reminder of why we should lol.

its all about fighting back and surviving, or sometimes what happens to those who didnt fight back hard enough, again its like a survival guide. no matter if its a horror movie about supernatural monsters or psychopathic murderers, its still always about how to survive.

which again reiterates my point, learn to defend yourselves. so for me personally, i think horror films are more important then other genres.. except for comedy.. i think comedy is good medicine for the soul. it will help you though hard times. so mostly i love horror , comedy, & erotica. especially love films specifically based in erotic horror comedy.

İpek Çakır : Since you’re also a visual effects artist I’d like to ask what you think about it,how do you think the visual effects in a film should be?

Mary Madcox : well, personally im not big on CG effects.. i am old school about my love of gore & effects.
i like to see Real hand made monsters & gore, i want the latex & monster slime and all the gross goodness that comes with it.
dont get me wrong i think there is a place for CG FX, like Sci-Fi & Super Hero movies, those are a great place to use CG FX, because we can make people fly, and make space ships look real ect ect..

but I feel that usually theres no place for CG fx in horror, it only makes things look fake, or like im playing a badly animated video game, which takes me right out of the story. CG monsters, CG Blood fx, it all looks fake, and im not yet impressed by it, maybe further down the road it will look more realistic, but until that day comes, i will stick with my latex & karo syrup lol!!

İpek Çakır : What about the sexual content,nudity and their importance in cinema,music,photography?I think that they’re important and I feel like you think the same.

Mary Madcox : this is an awesome question!! as i mentioned above, i think its incredibly important to inspire healthy creative sexuality for people in general, people in love & people looking for love & people just having fun.

and i think unfortunately society kinda looks at sex in a negative light, that is why prostitution is illegal & thats why oral sex is illegal in some states lol.. we live in a very repressed society, and i believe thats what spawns sexual predators, frustrated unhealthy repressed sex lives.

if we looked at sex is a positive light, we would consider all the positive effects it has on us & on society. so it is absolutely imperative to inspire the truth, sex is beautiful, and it is natural, and we should see the nude form as Art, as beautiful Artwork, and we should look at sexuality as a naturally given high for all of us to enjoy, its good for the body, good for the soul, its even great exercise lol. and we shouldnt feel ashamed if we want to play with sex toys or to do what society considers “kinky or naughty”, thats all part of the repressed programming, taking us off our natural path as human beings.

İpek Çakır: What’s your opinion about the American horror film industry (mainstream and independent) ? And as you know horror movies are also popular in Europe and Asia.What do you think about the horror movies that were shot in these regions,are you interested in them?

Mary Madcox : Oh yes absolutely, i love all horror, some of my favorite directors are foreign, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Yoshihiro Nishimura, Shin’ya Tsukamoto ect.. I love the independent horror from all over the world, recently ive been loving the indie horror coming out of Australia, i pretty much love all horror usually, no matter the region.. but i think usually independent offers more, because they are working outside the box, outside of the studio rules & expectations, not concerned about whats Politically Correct lol.

İpek Çakır : In Turkish cinema there are also works of horror movies or remakes.Have you seen any of them?

Mary Madcox : yes i have heard of these, but honestly ive been so busy working on productions i havent had the time to see any of them yet. definitely sounds interesting, and kinda scary hahaha but im willing to check it out, just havent had the chance yet.

İpek Çakır : What are your favorite horror movies and which characters are your favorite ones? What about acting? Can you think of any character that you might say “I wish I acted that one”?

Mary Madcox : honestly no, ive never wished i could have acted in a part lol.. im not an actress, its just not my thing. i might be able to act, but music & gore fx are my life. if i do a part in a movie, i prefer a bit part or a walk on, or especially something where i dont have to talk hahahaha, im just no actress. well haha i guess im selling myself a little short there, truth is i can act & ive been told im very good, but i havent had much experience in acting, you see me in my music videos, but im just being myself, yes in character but still being very much myself, thats how i act in the studo, thats how i am at home, thats how i am back in my paddedcell lol.

İpek Çakır : Tell us about your band and the soundtracks you created for the movies.In addition to this I’d like to ask your favorite soundtracks of all times?

Mary Madcox : with pleasure, my band or project as i like to call it, is MIXTRESS DEMONATRIX, we do electro erotic industrial horror punk fetish metal hahaha ;-D
I started the DemonatriX project a few years back, and i have collaborated with artists, bands & musicuans from all around the world.
including collaborations with Ari Lehman aka the original JASON VOORHEES of Friday the 13th. & his band FIRST JASON!
i am currently working with Ari on some lyrics, and im creating a few killer Remixes of FIRST JASON trax.

Also currently in collaboration with my goood friend Wild Bill Johnson, aka LEATHERFACE of Tobe Hoopers TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE II!!!
Bill mi amigo has written some very deviliciously brutal lyrics which my and my DemonatriX Crew are creating the musick for and performing the vocals, woth Wild Bills killer lyrics!
we are also talking about moving forward into more cllaborations together, things are getting hotter then hellfire in the studio right now!!

we have had our music featured on many productions, most recently, the Chainsaw Sally Show season one featured music from 2 other bands i was involved with, Attack of the Vampirates & Headonistic Torment!
and on Chainsaw Sally Show season II i was asked to create most of the score music & soundtrax themes.

im also currently re-creating and up-dating a few trax for an upcoming stage production called SILVER SCREAM,
for my long time friends & Forbidden Family, director JimmyO & April (Chainsaw Sally) Burril.

İpek Çakır : You like music videos,too.Which ones do you like the best?How do you think the ideal music video should be?

Mary Madcox : hahaha oh thats too broad range to answer, my music taste is enormous i have a very wide variety of tastes & styles.
but i will say this, the videos i love best are the ones that tell a story, i like that better then just watching a band play lol.
i like music videos that use imagery & creativity & imagination to tell a story, thats what i love best & what i look for in music videos.
but i also just love creepy horror & erotic style videos (with or with out a story) & of course i love good ol’ head trip style videos, psychOdelic stuff hehe Is always fun!
